Tom Rees, Owner-Winemaker

Growing up in the Midwest, Tom caught the wine bug working at Kahn's Fine Wines while he pursued his Chemistry degree at Purdue University in Indianapolis. He began his winemaking career as an intern wine chemist at Charles Krug and soon moved on to St. Supéry Vineyards where he accepted a full-time position as the Winemaking Technical Manager and was eventually promoted to Assistant Winemaker. After six years at St. Supéry, Tom was ready for a new challenge and headed to Rombauer Vineyards, where he worked as the Associate Winemaker.

In 2011, Tom decided to take the plunge and open his own winery. The project began by tearing down an old garage on the corner of Pine and Brown Streets in the Old Town neighborhood near downtown Napa. With the help of his wife and two sons, Tom built a small winery capable of producing eight barrels of wine per vintage.

An active member of the winemaking community, Tom consults for other wineries in his spare time and currently serves as Secretary of the California Enological Research Association.
